For every customer that is turned off by this predatory practice, they lose the friends and family that would have played the game and became a lifelong fan. They threw a goodwill gesture to the masses with the D2 update, but they needed to join the freemium world with the diablo IP. Back in 2012 when D3 came out that auction house fiasco cash grab was the first sign of the impending fall of the diablo franchise, and it has only gotten worse. Suffice to say those that are still giving blizzard a shot after that original feeling of dread have been proven correct. Back in the day when this mobile game was announced the fans at blizcon reacted with disgust.
